How long are your lessons and where do they take place?
Lessons are 45 minutes and take place over Zoom.
How many lessons do I need to sign up for?
You can book as many lessons as you need, although I personally recommend aiming for one lesson every two weeks to give you time to apply what we worked through in our previous meeting.
I don't see a time available that works with my schedule. Can I still work with you?
Certainly! I work with students all over the world, which often means juggling everyone's time zones to find a time that is best to meet. To get around this, I now offer asynchronous lessons through my Irish Fiddle Studio Membership which allows us to send videos to one at times that best fit our schedules. Join the membership here.
Do I need to have experience with playing the fiddle to take lessons with you?
I do recommend having some basic knowledge of how to play the fiddle and of Irish traditional music. Most of my students play at an Intermediate to Professional level, since we tend to place a greater focus on technique and stylistic expression to get the real feel for the tunes.
What results have other students seen in their playing after taking lessons with you?
I love seeing my students make progress in the time we spend working together! Some success stories include:
- building up the courage and repertoire to join a local session,
- vastly improved ear training skills,
- greater confidence in leading tunes at sessions and playing in front of others, and
- the ability to come up with bowing, ornaments and variations on their own that sound great!

How much do lessons cost?
Each lesson is $50.
Do you offer refunds + reschedules?
Thank you for asking! Out of respect for other students' schedules as well as my own, I am unable to offer refunds for lesson times. If you have an emergency or unavoidable commitment that conflicts with your lesson time, you are allowed one reschedule per lesson. Please note, lesson times are limited and I cannot guarantee there will be another available time open that works with your schedule. You can also choose to gift your time slot to a student on the lesson waitlist -- please give as much advance notice as possible if you would like to pursue this option so I can contact the other student.
